There are marks on my heart that I couldn’t show
My eyes are closed, but I’m still watching the show
I am sitting in the train and looking through the window
My surroundings are fast and my life is slow
They are talking loud but their self esteem is low
They look like adults but they still need to grow
A person who knows, will never say I know
People with little knowledge always sit in the first row
Life forces us to see what we don’t want to see
Slowly slowly we lose our shine and glow
One day we will become tired to kill our desire
It’s hard to pretend to others that you don’t know
People emphasize to go with the flow
To rebel against yourself is your biggest foe
When you are out of my reach I feel helpless
My heart stops beating and my blood pressure becomes low.
I am standing alone and looking in the sky
My heart is falling from the sky like snow

Heartfelt words. Every line meaningful in its own way. This one in particular jumped out at me: “It’s hard to pretend to others that you don’t know” – beautiful, insightful piece.

I think this piece is one of the kinds that everyone would relate to, at least once in their lifetime. The difference in the pace with which the world moves and we do, can be stark and upsetting.
I am really keen to know the reason behind calling it ‘Velocity’.
LikeLiked by 2 people
The velocity of the train inspired me to think about life… In the sense that Our lives are a journey… Simply, time is something that can’t be replaced but rather apart of the process of the direction we choose… Which could lead to us evolving for better or for worse. We all have our own pace and own time that we run on.

Wow! That’s really good 🙂 Each time we think we found a way, we realize maybe we’re lost. But isn’t finding and losing relative terms?

I think the most significant part of this poem for me is the naïveté of our younger days. Some days I wish I could be naive and less understanding of the world, just so life would be a little less painful sometimes. I said this to an acquaintance once, who changed my perspective and said “Oh but the smaller falls hurt more for the naïve, plus, we get much more of them!”

There are marks on my heart this train ride i’m on, will be a long trip, but not like my life it’s a battle i’ve been on, my mind holds these thoughts of where did i go wrong i did my best in my life that’s full of stress, i have went the lengths i have walked the lines through my life of hardship times, no one can change or shape my life into something better or great for me, so i keep the sun on my face and the wind at my back, and i pray and keep the faith.
