A Final Goodbye

This moon has been a witness of countless stories

He has seen destruction & he has seen glories

If this moon could speak, imagine what he would say

When he saw us; we were walking

I held your hand & we were talking

He saw you look back , while you were leaving

No one could see you crying, but this moon has been watching

That night, this moon who has been a witness of countless crimes

He closed his eyes and he was crying

    • yes, I go with the “she” … startling to have a “he” here. Age-old traditions have usually made her a wise, calm “she” as opposed to the fiery “he” that is the sun 🙂

  1. I love your graphic of the boat and man against the backdrop of the moon. A sad, contemplative poem and a beautiful one as well. My moon (if I can claim it) is also a ‘she’ … funny how our gender differs. 🙂 I need to write more poems … thanks for the inspiration.

  2. This piece spoke volumes to me today. What a pleasure it has been to read several pieces of your work now. When words are depicted so vividly that a reader is enraptured and feels every one, that is a special skill. It’s nice to meet you via wordpress. Belinda
